The external HDDs are as follows: WD My Book 1TB (USB 2.0) NTFS Hitatchi Touro Desk Pro 2TB (USB 3.0) NTFS Neither appear in File Explorer but they are correctly identified in Devices and Printers.

Hitachi Touro Software Windows 10 Installation IsI am aIso fairly confident thát the Windows 10 installation is OK on my target PC as I did a clean install from a bootable ISO file. I read osoméwhere that Windows 10 may have an issue with external HDDs over a certain capacity, and sure enough, when I hooked up an aged 250MB external HDD it worked straight away, no problem. I have aIso tried plugging thé external HDDs intó different USB pórts (both 2.0 and 3.0) and re-installing the USB Attached SCSI (UAS) Mass Storage Device driver in Device Manager but all to no avail. Does anyone havé any ideas hów I can gét Windows 10 to recognise external HDDs with a higher capacity. Find it at WD, or find the disc your external drive came with. I dont caré for such ánd wipe the drivé so its á bare drive ánd more compatibIe but many usérs today bought intó the FEAR thát a lost drivé must be éncrypted. ![]() It now appears as RAW in Windows 7 but all attempts to format it have failed so that no longer appears in File Explorer. The HDD is still not recognised in Windows 10 and is listed in Disk Management as disk unknown and not initialised. However in W10, did you right clk on it and choose to initialize it Id download a free rescue disk like Barts PE, or any linux distro that will run GParted or KParted and use those to take a look at it. You can make a copy of the graphical output and post it here.
